hi

I'm feeling a really strong need to connect with other women on some thoughts/feelings/experiences I'm having lately.

Something specific happened - I did a sticker art show and put up a number of stickers together that have woman characters on them. Someone put 2 stickers next to them, one said: femme mafia, the other said: We will fuck you (up).

The one need I have is to talk about those two stickers. What is that about? Is it a criticism of the "women" - as in if women stick together they're asexual and hostile, or is it some kind of support - we're not sex objects, watch out we're fierce? I feel unhappy with either intention. I don't want women sticking together to be such a big deal, I want more options for being than to be sexual or not, kick peoples' asses or not. Thoughts?

The other thing is that I realized that I wanted to talk to women about this and didn't have too many to talk to. And the ones I could talk to are my closest friends, and our conversation would stay between us. Tooo personal for me. I was trying to email friends and acquaintances to start a conversation and realized how nervous it made me to include some women acquaintances. How likely it is that some of them would be freaked out by me starting a discussion with a feminist perspective. And I thought - WOW, why is it so hard to talk in a way that's personal and political with other women? It's like we're freaked out by sticking together too, like we have adopted that fear ourselves.

Would love to hear peoples' thoughts/feelings/experiences...
